Cyperaceae (Sedge) Family
Grass-like; often located in wet areas or during periods of excessive rainfall, leaf sheaths usually closed and ligule absent; stems 3-angled (triangular), usually solid, and not jointed.
Sedges produce nutlets in the soil that can persist for years and make postemergence control very difficult.
